This Consumer Reports Adwatch video talks about a drug that treats Restless Leg Syndrome. The interesting bit: "…the drugs have serious side effects - one of the more bizarre involves a propensity for uncontrolled sexual or gambling impulses…"
If you watch the video (it's good, but campy -- I love Consumer Reports!), they say that in Mayo Clinic trials with the drug, there a strong tie to compulsive gambling and this drug. Two of the test subjects -- not gamblers at all before taking the drug -- both proceeded to gamble away $100,000 each while taking the drug.
Now, the test will be to figure out how to make a fine powder out of this drug and give it to the other players at your table.

Ok that video was pretty funny.
It is a pretty sick beat when you are dumb enough to believe some bull shit from a pharmaceutical company about why your legs itch at night, go pay $60.00 a month to "fix" it, have side affects way worse than "feeling an urge to move", and top it all off by becoming Martin Farha for a weekend and blowing off $100K. Brutal.
Sidenote: wtf does "campy" mean anyway?
Deliberately artificial, exaggerated and corny for humorous effect. The Adam West “Batman” TV show is constantly referred to as campy, for example.
Give me some of that Requip! I need some anti-nit serum so I can turn into Martin Farha!
I wonder if it has that whle "opposite effect" thing some drugs have, where if you give it to a compulsive gambler, they will turn into a nit. Farha could become Harrington with a simple pill!
Martin, you’ve been on Requip for years and you didn’t know it. Ha!
But at least my legs aren't restless.
Speaking of which, here is a video story called "The Business of Disease" which focuses on how the drug for RLS used was originally for Parkinsons but wanted to bump their sales so they took one of the side effects and ran with it.
Found the video on one of my Miro feeds.
